Chris, Laura and their two sweet boys traveled to Manuel Antonio from Washington state. They traveled here to vacation, but also to tie the knot in front of the two most important people in their lives. The day started out in a place that I have never been before, a small non-tourist town called Damas. Damas is about 10 or 15 minutes outside of Quepos, Laura was getting ready there at a condo they had rented. The ceremony took place at the far end of the main beach in Manuel Antonio, known as "Playitas". It was a very private ceremony, and a beautiful sunset followed.
Dan and Amanda had their closest friends and family travel to the beautiful beach of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica to partake in their wedding day celebrations. They all stayed at Villa Tortuga, a luxury villa overlooking the ocean and national park. The reception area was setup on the pool deck of the villa. It was just the right sized space for the group size. The tables were decorated with beautiful tropical colors. The ceremony was held on the beach under the wild almond trees. The lighting was beautiful as the sun began to lower. Hors d'oeuvres and champagne were served on the beach while the newlyweds took photos. We took a break from photos to try out some of these delectable snacks. After their fill of appetizers the guests joined the newlyweds on the beach to release wish lanterns into the sunset, The group was shuttled back to the villa for a lovely sit down dinner and cake. Venue: Villa Tortuga Wedding Planner: Jessie Older Florist: Merle's Flowers Caterer: Didier Rojas Sterner Officiant: Noel Ibo Campos Cake: Mariposa Pastry Liane and Eric traveled with a large group of their family and friends from freezing cold Canada to spend some time in tropical Costa Rica and celebrate their marriage. The master of ceremony mentioned the actual temperature back home and it was even cold to think about. Liane and Eric brought their family and friends to stay at the Riu, and all inclusive resort in the northern part of the country. They tied the knot on the beach at sunset. Liane and her bridesmaids were pampered at the on-site Spa. Liane did something pretty awesome. She did her own makeup. She went to the makeup store before she came to Costa Rica and had her makeup done professionally, but asked the makeup artist to teach her how to do it. She even took notes and wrote everything down in steps. She bought all of the product and then replicated the look here for her wedding day. And the best thing about it was that it turned out great! Eric and Liane opted to do a first look. It was really nice because we were able to get a variety of portraits between the daytime and sunset. It is amazing how different the vegetation is in Guanacaste compared to further South in the country. You can clearly see it here with the dry brush and golden colored mountains in the background instead of the lush green mountains I am used to. Very different but both equally beautiful. Liane and Eric invited their guests to play a game during dinner. Guests come to the center of the room and display a kiss and the couple has to copy it. It is a great way to keep things fun and also makes for some funny photos. Most of the speeches of the night were in French, it is always so interesting to be apart of weddings from different cultures. Liane's cousin, Mathieu, challenged himself to learn everyone's names by the wedding night. Liane called him out on it and he had 3 minutes to go around the room and name all 76 guests. He actually did it, it so so impressive. Photography: Yours truly
Venue: Riu Wedding Planner: Georgina Delgato Officiant: Jaun Echeverria Alfaro Two young friends were visiting Costa Rica and decided to have some photos taken to help preserve the memory of their trip together. The girls were a lot of fun, and Los Suenos is always a beautiful place to take pictures at.
Charlotte and Wouter decided to do a trash the dress session the day after their wedding. We started the session off with some more portraits of the couple, taking a path from the hotel front desk to the beach and stopping along the way. Photographer: Your truly
Location: Playa Langosta Wouter and Charlotte traveled all the way from Belgium to elope on the beautiful beach of Playa Langosta in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. The couple was lucky enough to spend almost a month in Costa Rica, and when they found Hotel Cala Luna, they knew that was where they wanted to get married. I arrived early as I usually do and had a chance to get some photos of Wouter getting ready. Once Charlotte was ready we headed down a sandy path to meet her soon to be husband at the beach. I gave the newlyweds a few moments by themselves before we started the portrait session. I took these beautiful silhouettes during that special moment without them even knowing. We finished the portrait session just in time as the sun set.
